"The Bicycle – Could it be one of the last inventions that is wholly good for humanity? At the age of seven, I first experienced the feeling of freedom when I rode my bike to school in 15 minutes, instead of spending an hour on a bus through the Bavarian countryside. The autonomy, the physical empowerment, and the sense of being part of my surroundings, rather than cutting through the world in isolation, have become the foundation of my idea of a good life. And because my life is art, cycling had to become part of my art as well.”
"Moving at the Speed of Observation" was an exhibition by Gabriel Holzner at Studio Walls in Vienna.
It featured four large paintings on canvas, each capturing dynamic scenes with a reduced visual language and vivid colors. At first glance, the images may seem flat, but upon closer inspection, their depth becomes evident through the many layers of acrylic paint and occasional use of modeling paste. Holzner seeks to capture the captivating essence of simplified forms and compositions, exploring various ways in which cycling can enrich and enable our lives.
The exhibition also marked the release of a print edition, created in collaboration with the Viadukt print studio in Vienna."
